Pair Of Prowlers Arrested After Overnight Foot Pursuit In Glen Rock, Police Say

Two men, including one with a replica handgun, were arrested early Monday morning, Nov. 18 following a foot pursuit involving multiple Bergen County police departments after they were caught them prowling residential neighborhoods, authorities said.

Glen Rock Officer Nicholas Onove was on patrol just after 2:30 a.m. when he spotted two men in dark clothing near properties on Cornwall Road and Gibson Place. When Onove attempted to confront them, the suspects jumped a fence into the backyard of a Cornwall Road property and fled.

Following a foot chase involving Sgt. Greg Carter, Officer James Donnelly, and officers from Fair Lawn and Ridgewood, the suspects were apprehended.

Police said the men were in possession of an iPhone stolen from a vehicle on Kershner Place in Fair Lawn, along with other personal property, including credit cards and smartphones, whose owners have not yet been identified. One suspect was also found carrying a replica handgun.

The suspects were identified as:

  • Randy H. Rosario, 19, of Edison, who was charged with possession of a replica handgun during the commission of a crime, resisting arrest by fleeing, receiving stolen property (two counts), and defiant trespassing. Rosario was transported to the Bergen County Jail pending a court appearance.

  • Gabriel A. Guedez, 18, of New Milford, charged with resisting arrest by fleeing, receiving stolen property (two counts), and defiant trespassing. Guedez was processed and released under bail reform, pending a court appearance.
